If you use the phrase creative juices flowing, you are uncreative. It's a law of nature. Deal with it.
Just like the law that says that any email-forward you receive that has the words "TOO GOOD!!!" in the subject is a piece of shit.

Translation: Those who come of no use to the nation are just a complete waste of youth. (Translation picked up from http://sudhishkamath.blogspot.com/2006/02/things-to-do-to-be-change.html)
I don't really know hindi and this may be a poor translation, but I'm having trouble understanding: A waste of youth to who? The nation? If that's the case, does this sentence mean anything at all?
I'm not being rhetorical. I'm really hoping one of you has an answer. Because if, as I fear, this statement is being quoted without anyone stopping to think if it actually means anything, we are well and truly fucked.

You know what would be funny?
A nerdy college guy using his crush's name for variables in his programs!
Hahaha! That would be funny, man! I wonder if anybody does that. Makes me laugh just thinking about the possibility. Hahaha!

Dude from professional perspective its not funny. It is one of the basis for getting thru the security safeguards. A little background check and some social engineering can get somebody going.

My Hindi is no great either so I don't think I can translate it 'literally'. But from what I understand, here's what it broadly 'means': "If your youth has gone by without having done any service to your country, then your youth has no significance". And this 'might be' what it 'actually' means: "If you're youth has gone by without having done any service to the country, then you haven't lived your youth".

Baah! Sometimes translating (seemingly) simple sentences can be tough :P

My wife had used my name for her programs (not the variables though) during our college days. I do it a bit different, skorg came into being that way. The way we sign too reflects the S and K. Now you can begin your 'Ha Ha its too funny' comments.

I used SRIDEVI and NAGMA as the two sides of the root we were trying to find out in the Newton Raphson method in my finals of CPNM (Computer Programming and Numerical Methods), engg. 1st year. The old soddy bastard who corrected my paper sabotaged my perfect score.
Even after the flowery description of the method , "As SRIDEVI and NAGMA approach the root, the reason, what we are searching for..."

The problem with the translation is that the translator got the first word wrong. 'Jo' here refers to the 'jawani', the youthdul age, and so should have been translated as 'that'. And the sentence, as someone pointed out above, means something to the effect that if your youthful zest and energy haven't served the nation, then your youth has been worthless/of not much significance.

It is a sentence I am rather ambivalent about. While I love, and support, the notion that civic sense is important, I am uncomfortable with one of the implied undercurrents - that nation is of more importance than the individual.

Oh, also wanted to tell you that I'd be adding you to my f-list now. So will prolly turn up at the comments section with alarming frequency. :)
